Join a Royal Golf Club League for Fellowship, Fun and Game Improvement

If you’re looking to improve your golf game, meet new friends, and have a summer’s worth of fun, consider joining a Royal Golf Club men’s or ladies’ golf league.

Whether you’re new to the game or you’re looking for a new challenge, the golf leagues at the Royal Golf Club offer an incredible opportunity for members and non-members to push their game further through friendly competition.

“When you make a commitment to a foursome to play nearly every week of the summer,” says Royal Golf Club head golf professional Shawn Weisen, “your game will steadily improve. There’s nothing like putting your time on the course week after week to help you master the game.”

According to Weisen, league play will begin the week of May 12 with the Ladies’ League starting on Tuesday, May 14, and the Men’s League beginning on Thursday, May 16. The league will conclude play on Thursday, Aug. 29.

Each week, league participants will play nine holes, alternating between the Queen’s Nine (front nine) and the King’s Nine (back nine). A one-time league fee of $50 will be charged, which includes a USGA handicap and the end-of-the-year social.

“We intend to keep things fun,” says Weisen. “Each week, participants will look forward to a different game, from best ball to 3 Blind Mice.”

For league participants who want to play more than just nine holes on Thursdays, the Royal Golf Club is offering a special Thursday-only membership. For $650, golfers will receive unlimited golf with cart on Tuesdays or Thursdays only, from May 16 through Aug. 29.

In addition, players who choose to participate can join in on a cash pot that will be paid out in cash at the close of each league session.

“Now is the time to sign up for league play,” Weisen adds. “The sign-up form is available through our website, or you can stop by the Golf Shop. If you don’t have a foursome, don’t worry, sign-up anyway. We’ll help pair you with other players who share your passion for golf. Remember, to Arnold Palmer, the most important part of this game was just getting outside and enjoying it with friends.”
