It might be cold and dreary outside, but there’s a lot happening at the Royal Golf Club during January. Here’s a rundown of events and activities that our fans and supporters should consider:

Open House (January 10, 2019) – Members of the Royal Golf Club and residents of the Royal Club are invited for an open house on Thursday, Jan. 10, beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Royal Golf Club clubhouse. This event offers the perfect opportunity to meet fellow members and enthusiasts of the Royal Golf Club, share stories of the past season, and look forward to the season ahead. Hors d’oeuvres served. New 2019 Calendar of Events – Watch our website for a new, year-long calendar of upcoming events and activities. This calendar is in development and will be posted by the end of January. It will include dates and times of all events, including Men’s and Ladies’ League dates and tee times.

Become a Member – Don’t wait until the last minute to become a member of the Royal Golf Club. Sign up now to secure your spot. Join a Summer League – Our Men’s and Ladies’ Leagues offer the perfect opportunity to make friends, have fun, and improve your game. League play begins the week of May 12 and goes through Thursday, August 29. If you have a foursome, great, sign up. Chef’s Creations – For January, Arnie’s executive chef Matt Sohlo has created two incredible dishes to spark thoughts of warmth and comfort while we go through the coldest part of the year. Chef Sohlo’s January creations include: Lobster Stuffed Salmon with saffron rice and winter vegetables ($26); Surf & Turf: 6 oz. NY Strip and five crab-stuffed shrimp in a chimichurri sauce served with dutchess potatoes and winter vegetables ($28); or Winter Salad, a kale, baby spinach, frisee, and romaine blend tossed in a honey apple cider vinegar. Topped with cranberries, green apple, pear, pecan, buttercup squash, bleu cheese, pepitas, and watermelon radish ($16).

Unlimited Golf Lessons with Shawn Weisen – Limited to just ten golfers, Royal Golf Club head professional Shawn Weisen is offering unlimited golf lessons this coming season. To learn more or to sign up, click here.

Junior Golf Lessons with Brandon Sigette – A key element within the mission of the Royal Golf Club is to offer instruction to young people to build a lifetime passion for the game of golf. Head of instruction Brandon Sigette is offering a number of clinics, camps, and classes for young golfers, from pre-school to high school students. Ping Fitting Event on April 20 – Are you in the market for a new set of clubs this season. Brandon Sigette, head of instruction, will be hosting a Ping fitting event. Ladies Open Clinics and the 3Ls – Brandon Sigette, head of instruction for the Royal Golf Club will be hosting a clinic and lessons for ladies only this coming season. There will be four open clinics throughout the season (May 18, June 8, July 20 and Aug. 10). Each session costs $25. All female members and non-members are welcome to attend. Ladies, Lessons & Libations (3Ls) is a series of lessons for women only capped with a cold beverage at the end of each lesson. Learn more, email Brandon at
