Arnie’s Restaurant Opens! Clubhouse Open For Special Events and Business Meetings

While the main course at Royal Golf Club won’t open until next spring, that doesn’t mean that we’re settling in for a quiet winter.

Quite the contrary!

We’re proud to announce that Arnie’s, our full-service restaurant and bar, and our new, completely refurbished 26,000-square-foot clubhouse featuring a grand ballroom for up to 300 guests — are now open, and will be open throughout the Fall and Winter – right through opening day next Spring.

“At the center of this new community is our clubhouse and restaurant,” says Hollis Cavner, the principal partner on The Royal Golf Club development. “As a multi-purpose facility, our new clubhouse will be the perfect place for residents of the local community to celebrate life’s events – weddings, anniversaries, groom’s dinners, baby showers, birthdays and much more.”

Both Arnie’s and the Clubhouse are open to both the members of The Royal Club luxury home development, and the public, including nearby residents of Lake Elmo, Woodbury, Stillwater, Maplewood, and White Bear Lake.

We invite you to join us – for lunch or dinner, to unwind with a glass of wine with friends at the end of a long week, to book a meeting in one of our modern, tech-savvy meeting spaces, or to celebrate one of life’s milestones, such as a wedding, a wedding anniversary, a birthday, a retirement, etc.

Celebrating a Rich Life: Arnie’s

Arnie’s will offer seating for up to 86 guests, including an additional 10 seats at the restaurant’s bar. Led by head chef, Dennis Dahl, who has more than 30 years experience as a country club chef, the restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner on weekdays, and brunch-lunch-dinner on weekends. Entrées on the dinner menu, range in price from $15 to $36, and include walleye, salmon, Southern fried chicken, pork chops, and angus beef.

The new restaurant and grand ballroom opens up to an outdoor patio that offers seating for an additional 84 guests, which looks out on Horseshoe Lake as well as the first and tenth holes of the course.

“We intend to create a family-friendly dining experience that complements the vision that Arnold Palmer and Annika Sörenstam intended with their design of our golf course,” says Chef Dahl. “Food that comforts, nurtures and inspires you – that brings out your best. We will seek to use organic and locally grown ingredients wherever possible, too.”

When you go to Arnie’s, don’t forget to check out its signature dish, Arnie’s Southern Fried Chicken. This recipe was Arnold Palmer’s personal favorite.

“If there were any doubt about how deep Arnold’s roots are interconnected with Lake Elmo and The Royal Golf Club,” says Alana Koderick, who oversees catering for The Royal Golf Club, “ask Chef Joe Nagel to share how he prepared chicken for Palmer when “The King” resided across the street from Hollis Cavner during the early days of Minnesota Champions Tour Golf. If you request Arnie’s Southern Fried Chicken with honey biscuit potatoes, you’ll be served the same buttermilk recipe that Arnold devoured.”

Arnie’s hours: Monday – closed. Tuesday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Sunday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Happy hour: Tuesday through Saturday, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Extended bar hours – open until 11:30 p.m., from Tuesday through Sunday.

Clubhouse: Views to Inspire

meeting room

Well, that didn’t take long: The Royal Golf Club’s newly renovated clubhouse has already been booked for its first wedding reception in October, and 12 more wedding receptions have been booked for the coming 12 months.

In addition to being the perfect place to host a wedding reception, The Royal Golf Club Clubhouse also features numerous meeting rooms that can serve as a place where local companies can host meetings and planning retreats, and where local community organizations (chambers of commerce, Rotary, etc.) can meet as well. The grand ballroom, which can be configured into smaller rooms, can host up to 300 guests. Additional private meeting rooms are available as well.

“What’s unique about the clubhouse is that nearly every room offers an incredible view of our golf course,” adds Koderick. “From our modern, contemporary facility, you are instantly connected with nature and the outdoors – that’s what makes this place so special.”

Located just 2.5 miles north of Interstate 94 at Manning Avenue, The Royal Golf Club is conveniently located for golf enthusiasts as well as those planning meetings and events. There are a dozen hotels within a 10-minute drive of The Royal Golf Club for out-of-town guests.
