A Golf Lesson Leads to a Lifetime of Fun

At the Royal Golf Club, our guiding philosophy is taken from Arnold Palmer himself: golf should be fun. Golf can be enjoyed by anyone at any age or skill level, and was meant to be played with friends and family in the summer sun, with a cold drink afterwards to put the finishing touch on the perfect day out.

The Royal Golf Club is committed to providing our members with all of the tools and instruction to have a successful, enjoyable game. So whether you’re brand new to golf or just looking to hone your putting skills, the Royal Golf Club has PGA-certified golf professionals on the staff and plenty of time slots to help you bring your game to new heights.

Our professional instructors welcome golfers of all ages and abilities, and do their very best to create a comfortable, no-pressure environment that gives every golfer a chance to see how fun golf can be.

The Royal Golf Club is particularly dedicated to encouraging young people, aged six and up, to learn the basics of golf and discover the joy of a challenging, social sport.

The Royal Golf Club offers junior golf lessons and day camps, access to the PGA Junior League and the chance for junior golfers to play the Short Course free of charge. According to one of our PGA-certified instructors, Shawn Weisen, golf lessons give kids the opportunity to get outside and master a sport to enjoy for a lifetime.

Shawn Weisen, one of our Royal Golf Club instructors, has 25 years of experience in teaching and playing golf professionally around the state of Minnesota. For the past 15 years, Shawn has been competing in PGA of America golf events and honing his skills among the best golfers in the country.

As a Royal Golf Club instructor, Shawn prefers to take a simple, low-stress approach to make sure that his student is learning to enjoy the game, rather than getting caught up in the technicalities.

Brandon Sigette, another one of the Royal Golf Club’s certified instructors, has more than 3,000 hours of instructing experience at three golf courses in Minnesota. By finding the right balance between having fun and learning the fundamentals of golf, Brandon believes that everyone, from junior golfers to professionals, can find their own love of golf.

Like Shawn Weisen, teaching junior golfers, who represent the future of the sport, is one of Brandon’s passions. Junior golfers can spend the afternoon with Brandon and take a lesson, or have a more immersive experience in one of the Royal Golf Club’s youth-oriented programs.

Lessons at the Royal Golf Club are priced at $60 with Shawn Weisen and $75 with Brandon Sigette. Contact the Golf Shop at 651.505.9070 to schedule a lesson with either professional.
